Shema MandalaA mandala, a geometrical form used to focus attention in eastern meditation techniques. The mandala (sankrit for circle) is of hindu origin. The geometrical pattern symbolises the cosmos and ensures the attention is automatically drawn to the centre. In the center of this one is a Sefer Tora, surrounded by the Shema in Hebrew. The Shema is the central prayere of Judaism: 'Hear Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one'. This is a print of Laura Bolter 's original painting done in acrylics on canvas board. In the center of the mandala is the Hebrew word Shalom (peace). The vibrant colors, textured surface, and brush strokes in the original painting are captured in this affordable print.(Please note: this print contains an image of the Godname and must not be destroyed or thrown out if damaged. According to Jewish law it shoud be taken to a genisa, a place where such text are kept untill they are buried. Or to keep it simple: don't chuck it, take it to your local Jewish community.)
